Media Inventory

Do children of different ages or sexes prefer different items? Why?

Yes, I think children of different ages or sexes prefer different items because boy and girls have different taste and are influenced by different media products. For example, boys are influences by toy cars, guns and video games. Girls are influenced by pretty things like Barbie dolls, teddy bear, and make-up. Boys and girls grow up in a different state like girls grow up around girlie things and boys grow up by boy things. You can’t force them to like something they don’t like because they are all different and will fall towards what they like depending on their age and sex. For example, in my family I use the telephone more than anybody because I love to talk on the phone for hours and my older brother uses the telephone the least because he doesn’t like talking on the phone for hours like me. If he has a conversation with somebody its goes something like hello ok ok ya ya bye. Another example is that my dad uses the cell phone the most only because he gets business calls but I don’t have a cell phone but I can tell you for sure that if I had one I would be texting and calling people a lot.

Arabs and Muslims

If I were to create a media product, I would create a website for people to discover the real truth about Arabs and Muslims because the website would have all the information on Arabs and Muslims and everybody mostly everyone uses a computer to research information more than magazines or newspapers. For the people who don’t have computers we would help them discover new things about Arabs and Muslims on the radio or we would post it information from our website on the newspaper. People need to discover the real truth about Arabs and Muslims because people are portraying them in a wrong way. Some people think their traditions may be wrong and not right. People maybe need to research on Arabs and Muslims culture and traditions which will teach them about their culture and why they do certain things a certain way. All this information will be on the website I create and it will be a more depth, with video and interviews from Arabs and Mulish people to hear what they think of other people who think their culture is abnormal.

Mostly everyone has a computer at home and can access internet so it would be easy way to get the true message of Arabs and Muslims and for the people who don’t have access to the internet I would probably publish new things about Arabs and Muslims in the newspaper and broadcast it on the radio, as I have mentioned before. This website will talk about everything like how Arabs and Muslims pray, why women wear Hijabs and why they do certain things in their religion.

The main target audience will be for teens from the age of 15+ who are not Arab or Muslim because teens are the ones who are mostly on the computer researching things for homework or just suffering the internet.

I would be able to determine if my product was effective by putting an application, like a pole and that pole will help me determine the percentage of certain questions I ask. I would put little quizzes up and ask questions like what do you think of Arabs and Muslims? What do you think of their religion? What interests you the most in the Arab and Muslim culture? I would also put a little comment box under everything I publish like in a Blog so they can comment on the certain things they find fascinating or wrong etc... My website would be effective in persuading my audience because it will have information about things people didn’t know about like why girls wear Hijabs and why they pray on their praying rug 5 times in a day. My website will also include video clips and pictures of Arab and Muslims. Hopefully all this information and video clips will change the way people think about Arabs and Muslims.
