Are Comments Acceptable?

“Dumbest bimbos?” “...foolish woman who deserve to be slapped around?”

Media personalities have absolutely no right to say such things because they are just reporters and should say what they are told to say but not negative things and name calling like “Dumbest Bimbos.” Just because Natalie Maine’s in the Dixie Chicks said something about George Bush doesn’t automatically mean she is a bad person and that she actually meant what she said.

Name calling is probably the worst thing ever. You can’t just call someone something when you know it’s not even true because it makes you look bad. You also might not even know them so if you go around calling them names and saying they should be slapped around that’s just ridiculous. Media reporters or news reporters should never make a pointless comment like “Dumbest bimbos?” “...foolish woman who deserve to be slapped around?” I think that is very ignorant. I say; if you don’t have anything nice to say about them, then just don’t say anything.
News reporter’s job is to report news and tell it how it is, not add their little comments about what they think about people and how they should be treated.

I agree completely. People have every right to speak out and shouldn't be judged for that. People have opinions that need to be heard and so they're going to be said, this is 2008 and we have the right to speak our minds. So, they said something you didn't like, or didn't appreciate, who cares, it's their opinion and it's not going to change because you said something cruel about them with little or no relevance to what they had originally said.

Please, grow up and have an intelligent argument rather than calling people foolish or dumb because they have opinions and you don't know how to think for yourself. And also refrain from saying someone else is a "dumb bimbo" when that was the best insult you could conjure up.

So, no comments like that are very unacceptable.

Completely true. Natalie could have just cracked up a joke. We don't know for sure, but like you said, I'm sure it wasn't bad also, and I believe she didn't really mean what she said either. On the other hand, to say such things coming from a news reporter doesn't seem right. Do they have proof that Natalie was meaning that comment to George Bush? If she were, I'm sure she wouldn't be singing happily, but more with anger. Heck, she wouldn't be singing at all! Then, the news reporters could say what ever they please. Since she didn't even do anything close to that, it's wrong. In my opinion, the news reporters should be delt with as well. "Nappy headed hoes"? That comment was also very rude and unacceptable. I'm glad he got what he deserved. The same should've also happened to the reporters talking about Natalie. Overall, I enjoyed discussing this. Good topic!
